The funny thing about the Columns is that they are used so differently. They are fine alone as they are but also have a display function, like the columns of antiquity where sculptures were raised with the help of columns. Hannah has worked a lot with the relief in the columns which gives them different expressions. Working with the clay when it is wet also gives the column a somewhat more raw and uneven expression, the clay becomes more alive and the structure clearer.
